The Manoir de Tampouy is a Maison Forte authorized by Aléonor de Comminges, mother of Gaston Fébus, in 1343. At the time, it enabled the Seigneur to watch over the passage of the Midou river.
It is likely that members of François I’s entourage stayed here in 1530
Historically interesting site. Strong house built with the permission of Aléonor of Comminges, Gaston Fébus’ mother, in 1343. It allowed the lord to keep watch over the crossing of the Midou river. It is thought that member of the royal entourage stayed there when François I married Eleonor of Austria, sister of Charles V of Spain.
